Bible Translator Perseveres After Family's Abduction

A Muslim-background believer is continuing his ministry and Bible translation efforts despite being separated from his family. Diallo Haruna was born into the Fulani tribal group and raised as a Muslim in Chad. He eventually placed his trust in Christ and attended a Bible school in neighboring Nigeria. But when he returned to Chad in 2018, some radical Muslims abducted his wife and young daughter. Today, Diallo serves in translation work and asks people to pray for those efforts and for his ministry. “Pray for more wisdom and to preach the gospel without fear,” he said. “I give my life to preach the gospel, not only to the Fulani but to everyone.” He also hopes to be reunited with his wife and daughter. “If they are still alive, I would like to see them again,” he said.
