  1. Why do I need to register in order to post prayers?
iCommitToPray.com was created as an online gathering place for believers to share their prayers for the persecuted church. Registration allows The Voice of the Martyrs to see who is using the iCommitToPray.com website and helps us prevent misuse of the site, such as spam or the posting of commercial messages that distract from its purpose of prayer.

  2. Why has a posted prayer been deleted or edited?
Users have the right and ability to delete their own prayers after they are posted, so it is possible that a prayer was taken off the site by the person who posted it.

It is also possible that VOM staff deleted or edited the post.

VOM created and continues to support iCommitToPray.com as a part of our ministry of being a voice for those facing persecution because of their faith in Christ around the world. This website is intended to encourage you to pray for persecuted Christians and to inspire you with the stories of their courage and faith.

This site is monitored by VOM staff, and VOM reserves the right to delete any posts that are not relevant to VOM's ministry objectives of serving persecuted Christians and being a voice for them in the United States. Posts aimed at promoting another website, ministry or commercial opportunity will be deleted. Any prayers that contain a URL are automatically deleted.

iCommitToPray.com is a public website. Therefore, it is not an appropriate venue for resolving complaints or conflicts or for requesting additional information, nor is it a place designed for communication with Christians inside hostile and restricted nations (though they may see your prayers for them). If you have questions or comments, please call our Reader Services staff at 1-800-747-0085 or email them at thevoice@vom.org. Requests for help from restricted or hostile nations are to be e-mailed to us at thevoice@vom.org.

Our hope is that every comment on this site will represent more prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters living in hostile and restricted nations. Thank you for being their voice.

  4. How does The Voice of the Martyrs choose whom to highlight on iCommitToPray.com?
The Voice of the Martyrs has an International Staff and other Christian contacts around the world who monitor instances of persecution and provide help to affected Christians. These faithful Christian workers communicate prayer needs back to the VOM-USA office, along with security concerns and other information pertinent to a particular persecution situation.

Out of these many cases, VOM staff select prayer requests to publicize each week, keeping in mind the intensity of the need and a desire to present requests from a variety of the 50+ nations where Christians face persecution. In addition, security considerations are factored in to protect Christians in restricted nations as well as VOM staff working in these nations.

You can designate your donation to a particular country, and it will then be used to help Christians in that nation.

  7. How can I help increase awareness and prayer support for persecuted Christians?
There are many creative ways to share your burden for our persecuted family, from sharing this site with your Facebook friends to writing a post on your personal blog to ordering a T-shirt from VOM that will start conversations about the persecuted church.

Perhaps you can start by encouraging your Sunday school class or church family to pray with you for our persecuted family. VOM offers free resources to U.S. residents, including DVDs and Special Issue newsletters that will help you share the message of the persecuted with other believers. Call our office to request one of these resources.
