Extremists Kill 9 Christians at Funeral

On Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, Islamists attacked a Christian funeral procession in Karak, Jordan, killing 9 and wounding 40, many of whom remain hospitalized. “This attack has deeply shocked the people of Jordan, especially the Christian community,” said a longtime front-line worker. “Among the injured are fellow believers, ministry workers and members of families we personally know. This makes the tragedy especially painful and close to our hearts.” The worker requested prayer for all who are grieving, for physical and emotional healing for the injured, for protection for churches, and for faith to prevail over fear. He added that when Jordan’s King Abdullah visited survivors receiving medical treatment, one courageous Christian told him, “This is our land. We will never leave.”
