Police Raid Church
A church in the town of Semey, located in far eastern Kazakhstan, was raided during Sunday morning services on May 24, 2026. According to the police, someone had called the Kazakh police emergency number to report that religious activities of an unregistered community were taking place. “A police squad of about 10 people arrived during the service,” said one of the leaders. “After the service ended, everyone present except for mothers with children was told not to leave. Officers explained the reason for their visit and said that the church members were violating the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan by performing religious rites.” Charges were filed against 15 church members, including the pastor. The church members request prayer for favor and that they will be allowed to continue meeting.
