Pastor Prays for Imprisoned Voodoo Priest

A pastor in Benin requests prayer for a voodooist despite being persecuted by him. Pastor Vincent spent months planning and gaining permission to host an evangelistic meeting in his community in Benin. But on the scheduled day, the community rallied against it and demanded to speak with the outreach organizer. The Christian group was forced to leave, a tactic typical of voodooists in the area. A local voodoo priest had also opposed Vincent and Agnes, his wife, preventing them from buying land to build a house. Later, the couple’s young daughter died of an illness, and they believe it was at least in part from curses the voodooist placed on her. The voodooist has since been sent to prison, and Pastor Vincent’s heart is burdened for him. “I plan to go to the prison with Agnes to share the gospel with him,” Vincent said. He asked for prayer for the man’s heart to be softened and for the gospel to go forth in Benin.
