Lord heavenly Father, I pray for these Syrian Christians that they may be protected from persecution. I also pray that these Islamic extremists come to believe that Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. May they repent of their sins and experience the true freedom of Christianity. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Lord God, I do pray that You would use this suffering to strengthen the Christians and unite them together in love. May they have courage to continue walking in obedience to You, and I pray that You would keep them safe as they meet. May their hearts by guarded by Your peace and may they be instruments of peace to others.

Only father God, thank you for these Syrian Christians, and thank you for the Syrian authorities that are helping them and standing up for them. I pray that Islamic in the area will back down and be afraid and be told that they must welcome the Christians not harm them and God just protect them put your angels around all of them in Jesus Christ name.

Father, cause the bitter hatred of the men who wrote these letters, and their leaders, to be disrespected by multitudes of Muslims who write their own letters in response, calling such viciousness unjust and an affront to Islam.Cause highly respected imams to disavow such cruel hatred publicly. Cause the interim President of Syria to renounce violence.

Heavenly Father, I pray for Christians and other religious minorities who are being in persecuted in Syria. Their hope and trust is in You. I pray there will be international pressure on the Syrian government to maintain religious freedom and peace.

I pray that you would protect Syrian churches. Thank you for the help the Syrian government has provided in this. I pray that these horrific statements would cause Syrian Muslims to turn from Islam and soften towards you. Give our brothers and sisters strength, and fill them with your peace.

Be their refuge and strength as attacks pick up in Syria. Give the churches protection through many resources. Turn the attackers' hearts away from violence and the devil. Let the eyes of the world scrutinize what happens to Christians in Syria. Change the priorities of local governments to freedom for Christians and not tolerance of persecution.

Please save them from those who persecute them, deliver them into safety that they may tell of all your praise. Please give strength and protection as the church continues to be a witness in a society that lacks the values of our Savior, and help the church to remain a light of peace, remembering the words of the psalmist: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Help the persecutors to Christ.
