Five Families Kicked Out of Village in Rakhine State

[200] prayers in [14] nations have been posted for Maung Cia and his family and friends.

After being shackled for three days and fined for buying a banana from a Christian vendor, Maung Cia sought out a pastor in a neighboring village. The pastor shared the gospel with Maung and two of his friends, and they all accepted Christ. Maung then led 10 other villagers to Jesus and invited the pastor to lead a worship service in his village. Midway through the service, Buddhist villagers severely beat the pastor and stoned the worshipers. Village leaders later kicked five families out of the village, and VOM is providing the families with food and housing assistance. “Now as much as I can I’m sharing the good news and I will continue to do so,” Maung said. “Please remember us in your prayers. Thank you for your support and your love. God bless you.” Pray for the families to remain firm in their faith, and pray that more will come to know Christ.

  • Yes, as another prayer said, we take this free country too often for granted. Lord, we need to remember the trials that our brothers and sisters are going through. Help us to not only remember, but pray for them "as if chained with them" and "as if we ourselves are being mistreated." Hebrews 13:3
Lord, be with Maung Chai and his family!

  • Lord, please take great delight that Cias and friends persevere persecution. Jesus rose from the tomb 3 days after He died for us and then the Good News is affirmed. Cias and friends were shackled for 3 days and became messenger of the Good News. For "they will do greater things than these", may their faith in you be rewarded with lots of harvest!
