Pray for Czech Aid Worker and Three Others on Trial in Sudan

[948] prayers in [35] nations have been posted for Czech Aid Worker.

Petr Jasek, a former hospital administrator from Czech Republic, is currently being tried in Khartoum, Sudan, on charges of “crimes against national security.” If convicted of the charges, Mr. Jasek, along with two Sudanese pastors and another Sudanese man being tried on the same charges, could face the death penalty.

Mr. Jasek has a 20-year background in the medical field, including 10 years as a hospital administrator. This experience and training uniquely qualified him to serve suffering people in places like Sudan. Mr. Jasek has assisted VOM on different occasions to provide care to persecuted Christians in Sudan and Nigeria, including medical care for Christians attacked by Boko Haram.

Please pray for Mr. Jasek, along with Rev. Hassan Abduraheem, Rev. Kuwa Shamal and for the other Sudanese man, as their trial continues. Pray for favor with court officials, for justice in their trial and that all four men will be freed and allowed to return to their families. Pray that God will continue to protect and sustain these men who have been unjustly imprisoned for more than nine months.

Pray also for the wives and children of these men, who are naturally concerned for their loved ones. Pray that God’s peace will reign in their hearts during this difficult time.

(VOM will be sending some of the family members a link to this website so they can receive encouragement from your prayers.)

  • Lord, some try to erase Your name and Your people from Sudan. We praise you--the government of the world is on Your shoulders. You rule and reign in Sudan. Give visions and dreams to those in authority in Khartoum: may President Omar al-Bashir and his ministers hear Your name and start to wonder why believers will pay any price to follow You.

  • Lord, by your mercy, grace, and love, even the vilest sinner may be just a hairs' breadth from repentance. And that is why you tell us to remember those in prison. Please speak to all Sudanese prison staff and inmates with dreams, visions, and through unexpected people. Show your love to the captors and to the captives, Lord.

  • Lord, please send your word into Sudanese prisons. Amplify the voices of faithful servants who read, speak, sing, and take action inside and outside of cell bars and walls. Take the voices of the faithful to those in solitary confinement. Annoint the hearts and minds of those who have not bowed their knees to any other gods. Praise your name, HaShem.

  • Lord, please hear our prayers. ISIS continues in the tradition of Saul from Tarsus. Each man, woman and child under bondage to the ISIS doctrine can be freed. Please speak to them in dreams and in visions and through unexpected people. Use Petr's Christian words to free the ISIS combatant's soul before his body is freed from the Sudanese prison cell.

  • Lord, Sudanese men have been in prison for more than a decade for one reason: they trust the name of Christ. They proclaim and lean on the name above all names. Please grant them justice! Please free them! Send them out to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God. Thank you for sustaining these men! Pour favor into the hearts of court officials.
