Dear Heavenly Father, Please comfort Pastor Aklilu's family. May they feel your presence everyday as they continue living without him. Give them strength and comfort each day. Thank you for those willing to share their faith with others despite the risk. Hold this family extra close to you and give them the strength to persevere.

Dear Jesus, thank you for the life and courage of Pastor Aklilu. Comfort and provide for his family. May many come to know You, Jesus, because of this brave man. Convict the leaders of the Orthodox Church to turn away from violence and evil and turn to You, Jesus. Bring repentance and revival in the Orthodox Church to embrace Your Truth.

Father, I ask you to comfort the wife and children of Pastor Akilu. Give them renewed hope, faith, peace and strength. Bless their minds and souls from reliving the tragic event over and over. Continually pour into each of them your peace and glory now and in the days, months and years to come. Bless the entire church family to be comforted too.

Lord, you promised that those who are persecuted for your sake are blessed, and we pray that blessing on Aklilu's family as they have given up so much for the sake of the gospel. Please remind them that you care deeply for widows and the fatherless, and show them your provision, protection, and compassion. Wrap your arms around them, Lord.

Lord, Pastor Aklilu's already in your care in that special part of Heaven that's set aside for martyrs. I'm sure that your angels are already watching over his wife and children. We all join in prayer for this family.
It's a shame that this act was inspired by jealous Christians from another sect. Pray for his killer and those who supported him. Amen

Lord I'm angry for the loss of Aklilu and we grieve alongside his family and they grapple with the why and how and the pain to follow. I pray for comfort for them and Your provision over their needs.
