Pray for Christian Families Charged with Forced Conversions

After a radical Hindu group complained to local police, three Christian families were charged on Feb. 4 with spreading Christianity and forcing others to convert. Local police are searching for Basavaraju, 40, and his wife, Rathna, 35; Udhaykumar, 30, his 26-year-old wife and their two young children; and an evangelist named Yogesh, 22, all of whom are in hiding. All of the believers make their living by working on others’ farms as field workers. The families are active in their church, willingly share the gospel with others, distribute gospel tracts and hold prayer services. A lawyer working on behalf of the Christians has spoken to police and is trying to bring action against the radical group for filing charges without any proof.
