Pastor Philip, 45, and a small group of 25 fellow believers from the Grace Gospel Church were worshiping in the home of a church member in Nayandahalli, a rural village near Bangalore, when about 50 Hindu nationalists entered the house and began attacking them with rods and sticks. Six men, three women and a 7-year-old girl were injured in the attack. The Hindu radicals called authorities to arrest the Christians, and when police arrived about an hour later the injured were taken to a hospital. Two men were admitted for minor injuries, while the others were treated and released. Charges were filed against both the Christians and the Hindus. The radical group has threatened to kill the Christians and burn the house if they meet there again for prayer.
