Pray for Believers Who Continued to Worship During National Mourning

[270] prayers in [20] nations have been posted for Beleivers in Cuba.

Many churches in Cuba canceled services on Sunday, Nov. 27, during Cuba’s nine official days of mourning for the death of Fidel Castro, but one Baptist church continued to worship. “We understand that Daniel prayed according to his custom three times a day with the window open,” the pastor said. The church met for Sunday school and worship service as usual, but between the first and second services authorities ordered church leaders to cancel the second service. “Go get the police and whoever else you want, but I will not suspend the service; nor will we stop singing,” the pastor told them. “When one of our brothers in Christ dies, we sing and worship. That is not disrespect.” The tone of the officials immediately changed, and the church continued with its second service. The pastor told the congregation what had happened, encouraging anyone who felt uncomfortable to go home. “Everyone said, ‘Amen!’ and no one left,” the pastor said. “It was a glorious service! Continue praying for us.”
