Asia Bibi's appeal was denied by the Lahore High Court on Oct. 16. Nearly 2,000 mullahs gathered outside the courthouse to pressure the judges, and an Islamic cleric set a half-million rupee ($5,000) bounty on Asia’s head. Asia's attorneys plan to file an appeal with the Supreme Court in Islamabad within the allotted 30-day period. VOM sources say this will likely mean more years of waiting for the Christian mother sentenced to death on a blasphemy conviction. After hearing the outcome of her appeal, Asia said, "Please do something. It’s been so long and I want to be with my children."
